hI,

Altough I recognize that in the last year Dart evolved more than the last
other five,
sometimes Its annoying how other teams just ignore Dart.
See,Dart is not even in their to do list.
Since Aqueduct only works with PostGreSql,would it take millions to develop
a Dart Driver?
How can I convince my boss to use Dart?

Thanks,
Marcello

Hi Marcello and Jonathan

At this time the Dart team is focusing a small set of both big (static
typing) and small (some corelib) changes to the language and SDK, and going
forward primarily focusing on delivering a great experience for client-side
developers, whether they are on mobile (Flutter) or web (AngularDart,
OverReact, etc). I don't see us putting additional effort into server-side
Dart scenarios at this time, but luckily this is an area where the
community has already done a lot of hard work - folks like Joe Conway
(Aqueduct) and Angel (Tobe O).

Thanks for your interest in Dart!

folks like Joe Conway (Aqueduct) and Angel (Tobe O).
I would like to mention *Jaguar *in that list too. The Dart community has
put a lot of work in delivering a server-side framework.

Regarding DB drivers, as, Matan mentioned, Google is mostly focused on
Flutter, Dart 2.0, DDC and probably Fuchsia.

An easy route for the community to fix drivers problems is use Dart native
extensions to expose drivers written in C++ or Rust.

I think Google thinks taht everybody that wants to master Dart(all the 10
in the world that still try to do this), are seasoned Java Programmers,
So if there are a service that thas something doing it in Java,Why caring
about a Dart implementation?
Its not only Google Cloud Sql,but also Google App engine.
The world won take Dart seriously until its not a first class citzens, and
by the time it is taking to get there,I dount this will ever happen.
